Thrives in poor soils. Prefers cool summer temperatures. Struggles in areas with high summer heat and humidity such as the Deep South. Prune as needed in late winter to early spring. Plants may be cut to the ground every 3-5 years (more frequently if needed) to maintain a more vigorous and ornamental shape.
